AWARD-WINNING JOURNALIST TRACY TONG MOVES TO EVENINGS ON GLOBAL NEWS TORONTO

TORONTO, November 1, 2023 – Global News welcomes a familiar face to its Toronto evening newscast,
as Tracy Tong joins the news desk alongside veteran anchor Alan Carter.
In addition to anchoring Global News at 11 p.m., the award-winning journalist brings her thoughtful, hard-hitting news expertise to the anchor desk during evenings, Monday to Friday at 5:30 and 6 p.m.
Tracy has worked on some of the biggest breaking news and developing stories in North America, including hosting and producing Global News’ network-wide special, Hidden Hate: Anti-Asian Racism, live reporting during the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election, and covering high-profile crime cases like Bruce McArthur’s serial killings in the GTA. On Saturdays, Tracy can be seen hosting Global News’ brand-new series, Crime Beat: Most Wanted, at 7:30 p.m.

Viewers can now catch anchor Shallima Maharaj during the 11:00 p.m. newscast on Fridays, and Mark Carcasole will continue to anchor Global News Weekend at 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.
