A NEW AFTERNOON LINE UP ON EDMONTON’S 630 CHED
For Immediate Release
EDMONTON, July 6, 2023 – 630 CHED, the radio station for Edmonton’s News and Today’s Talk, is shaking up its afternoon line up to better serve its listeners. Starting on September 5, Edmonton’s favourite talk radio shows can now be heard at new times.
Chelsea on CHED moves to 2 to 5 p.m., from 3 to 6 p.m. Hosted by award-winning broadcaster, Chelsea Bird, this popular show – a combination of news, conversation, topical stories and fascinating guests – always keeps listeners informed and entertained. Chelsea will be joined by Anchor Randy Kilburn, who delivers the headlines of the day, and Reid Wilkins, Host of Inside Sports, with sports updates.
With the Edmonton Oilers’ 2023-2024 season set to start this fall, Edmonton’s place for hockey news, Oilers Now with Bob Stauffer, will now be heard every weekday from 5 to 7 p.m. Bob Stauffer, a preeminent voice in hockey and the Radio Colour Commentator for the Oilers since 2008, brings his much-loved show to the afternoon drive and will continue to be the destination for great guests, unique insight, and analysis on the hockey club.
“The new time for Oilers Now will bring all the great things about this show to an even larger audience,” says John Vos, Regional Program Director for 630 CHED. “The afternoon time slot naturally ties into our hockey broadcasts and our Oilers Face Off show.”
“In addition to the renewal of our exclusive broadcast partnership in April, we are excited about 630 CHED’s new afternoon line up – which will mean more extensive pre- and post-game Oilers coverage for more fans across Oil Country and beyond,” said Tim Shipton, Executive Vice President, OEG Sports and Entertainment. “We look forward to many more iconic moments next season with more expert analysis and continuing to grow the Oilers radio audience with Bob Stauffer and Oilers Now leading into 630 CHED’s live Oilers game coverage.”
Inside Sports with Reid Wilkins remains in its current time slot of 7 to 8 p.m. Reid Wilkins, who is also the Host of the Edmonton Oilers broadcasts, will once again bring listeners a jam-packed hour of in depth sports coverage.
