93.1 FRESH RADIO AND CHRISTMAS GLOW PARTNER TO ‘FLIP THE SWITCH’ TO CHRISTMAS IN BARRIE AND THE GTA
Barrie’s Official Christmas Station to Launch Annual All-Christmas Music Format at Special Preview of Christmas Glow in Barrie
BARRIE, November 22, 2018 – 93.1 Fresh Radio is getting into the holiday spirit as the exclusive radio partner of Ontario’s largest indoor Christmas festival, Christmas Glow. The station will ‘flip the switch’ to Christmas in Barrie and the GTA with a special behind-the-scenes preview of the inaugural Christmas Glow Barrie event, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 22.
Previewing what’s on offer two days ahead of the event’s grand opening, 93.1 Fresh Radio will broadcast live from Christmas Glow’s 100,000 square foot exhibit at Bradford Greenhouse Gallery (4346 County Road 90, Springwater, Ontario). As Glow turns on its nearly one million brilliant lights for the first time, Fresh Barrie will ‘flip the switch’ on its airwaves, launching its seasonal all-Christmas music format; simultaneously ushering in the season with both visual magic and auditory wonder.
“As Barrie’s official Christmas station, we are thrilled to partner with the first-ever Christmas Glow festival in Barrie,” said Dave Blezard, Program Director at 93.1 Fresh Radio. “Barrie’s biggest all-Christmas music station, teaming up with Ontario’s largest indoor Christmas festival – it’s a match made in the North Pole.”
Christmas Glow in Barrie is the newest iteration of Darvonda Nurseries’ hugely successful ‘Christmas Glow’ series of festivals – originating in B.C. Running from November 24, 2018 to January 6, 2019, Christmas Glow is expected to draw up to 100,000 visitors from across Simcoe County and the GTA.
“Our annual Christmas Glow concept for sharing the warmth of the season with family and friends quickly became a highly anticipated experience, and we expect the same for Barrie,” said Lawrence Jansen, CEO of Glow and Darvonda Nurseries. “We’re very pleased to have a radio partner like 93.1 Fresh Radio that shares the same passion for the holiday season as we do.”
Themed ‘Glow Around The World’, visitors will venture through lighted trails to discover six countries – France, UK, India, China, Mexico and Holland – featuring iconic landmarks brilliantly decorated with dazzling lights. Festive activities and interactive features to delight all ages will include: light gardens and sculptures, a Christmas market with local artisans, a magic castle playground, live entertainment, seasonal food and drink, and photos with Santa.
Fresh Radio Barrie will air all-Christmas music, all-the-time, from November 22 at 4 p.m. through December 25. For more information visit 931freshradio.ca or glowgardens.com.
