TORONTO, November 30, 2023 – For the seventeenth consecutive year, Global News Toronto will be supporting the month-long Toronto Fire Fighter’s Toy Drive this holiday season.

A Global News holiday tradition, The Toy Drive – taking place from December 1 to 31– encourages Greater Toronto Area residents to support underprivileged families and children in need across the city. Members of the community are encouraged to make a monetary donation or drop off a new, unwrapped toy at any Toronto Fire Hall. In 2022, a record-breaking $220,000 was raised over the month-long campaign.

This is a holiday initiative and special partnership with the Toronto Fire Fighters that we look forward to every year,” said Buffy McGaw, Director, News Marketing. “It’s a time to give back to a community that is much in need, and we can’t wait to take part in it again.”

This year, the biggest need is monetary donations, as well as basic necessities including hygiene products, socks and underwear. For more details on how you can contribute to the Toronto Fire Fighters’ Toy Drive visit Globalnews.ca/Toronto. Donations are welcome throughout the month of December.

Tune into Global News Toronto during the month of December, where local hosts Susan Hay and Anthony Farnell will share stories highlighting how these generous donations impact people’s lives, and the various ways viewers can help make a difference during the festive season.
